CDS Written Exam 2021 Preparation Guide
Combine Defence Services (CDS) exam held in the months of February and November each year by the Union Public Service Commission. This is the major Graduation level entry for candidates willing to join the Army, the Navy and the Air Force as officers. Eligibility for CDS Written Examination
For Army candidate’s graduation from any stream is required. Whereas for air force graduation from any stream but they should have Maths & Physics at 10+2. Although with Navy things are not the same as only Engineering graduates can apply all the students who are in final year of Graduation can also apply.
The Age criteria will be as follow
For Army (IMA): Male 19-24 years.
For Naval Academy (INA): Male 19-24 Years
Air Force Academy (AFA):- 20-24 Yrs
Officers Training Academy (OTA):- Men 19-25 Yrs Women 19-25 Yrs.
The higher age limit is calculated from the date of beginning of the course at IMA, OTA, AF Academy, and Naval Academy and NOT at the time of filling up the ONLINE application from UPSC.
HOW TO APPLY:
Notification for CDS exam is issued by the UPSC in the months of November for February Exam and in August for November exam each year, Candidates have to apply ONLINE within a month of the issue of Notification on www.upsc.gov.in

Three papers, General Knowledge, English & Maths 2 hours each, max marks 100 for each paper.
OTA Pattern
Two papers, General Knowledge and English.2 hours each, max marks 100 each paper.
